InspirED Somerset - Enriching Creative Learning for Somerset Children and Young People. InspirED is a consortium of Somerset arts organisations bringing the skills and expertise of arts and media professionals direct to schools, colleges and children’s centres across Somerset. The InspirED consortium – comprising Somerset Art Works, Somerset Film, SPAEDA and Take Art - has been awarded a three-year contract by the Somerset Schools Compact to deliver a new universal arts and education network to which all educators working with young people are encouraged to subscribe. www.inspiredsomerset.org.uk

Arts Council England champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people's lives. We support a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries - from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections. Great art and culture inspires us, brings us together and teaches us about ourselves and the world around us. In short, it makes life better. http://www.artscouncil.org.uk/

The Ernest Cook Trust is one of the UK’s leading educational charities. Rooted in the conservation and management of the countryside, the Trust actively encourages children and young people to learn from the land through hands-on educational opportunities on its estates and by offering grants. http://www.ernestcooktrust.org.uk/

Somerset County Council Short Breaks Scheme - Somerset Art Works successful received funding to run Nature in Art Workshop Days inspired by the Great Crane Project .The Short Breaks funded activity was for disabled young people and their families/ carers. These workshops were a unique opportunity for family groups to join SAW and The Great Crane Project to discover the wonders of cranes. Together they explored the wetland habitats at Greylake Nature Reserve in the morning (good accessibility) and then spent the afternoon at a local village hall creating crane-inspired artwork under the guidance of professional local artists Hilda Vaughan and Kitty Hillier.

The Somerset-wide Company of Voices Intergenerational Project. This cross-sector partnership aimed to promote cohesion in communities so that older and younger people could improve the extent that they value and respect one another, feel safe and secure in their community and are able to speak about their issues and views. Our projects provided opportunities for the generations to come together to make a difference in their community and enjoy healthy, active and fulfilling lives.
