Somerset Art Works and The Great Crane Project are running Nature in Art Workshop Days for disabled young people and their families.
Funded by the Somerset County Council Short Breaks Scheme, these days provide an opportunity for families to enjoy spending time together and get involved in an interesting project.
There are two separate workshops:
Tuesday 16 August 10.30am - 4pmor
Tuesday 23 August 10.30am - 4pm
Tuesday 23 August 10.30am - 4pm
This is a unique opportunity for family groups to join Somerset Art Works and The Great Crane Project to discover the wonders of cranes. Together explore the wetland habitats at Greylake Nature Reserve in the morning (this reserve has good accessibility) and then spend the afternoon at Othery Village Hall creating your own crane-inspired artwork under the guidance of professional local artists. Art work created will be displayed at historic Muchelney Abbey during Somerset Art Weeks 17 September to 02 October.
This Short Breaks activity is for disabled young people (up to 19) and their families/ carers. Cost - £10 per family. Transport available if required. Booking essential via Somerset Art Works 01458 253800 info@somersetartworks.org.uk www.somersetartworks.org.uk
